Canon 100mm L macro lens Close up Shots

Today is something new for the blog.  A couple of close up macro shots of my two monkeys.  I rented a Canon 100mm L macro lens a few weeks back for a wedding I was shooting and decided to have some fun using it around the house.

I don’t know about everyone else, but my kids are the toughest clients ever when it comes to taking their picture.  At best they give me one shot and then run away.  I don’t know how many times I’ve had to yell, threaten or bribe just to get a few brackets.  The life of a photographer dad.

Regardless of their behavior I did get these two shots with the 100mm set for macro.  The quality of this lens is amazing.  It is tack sharp and has incredible bokeh (for the non-photog people that means its ability to blur the background).   From the shots above you can see where the focus point was set and how fast it falls off.  Incredible.

I have this lens on my buy list and will eventually own it.  So in case you were wandering what to get me for Christmas, now you know. 😉

Until next time…
