Westwood Hall Wedding at The Springs Event Venue

Earlier this month I flew to Ft. Worth Texas to photograph Angel and Shelby’s Westwood Hall wedding. Boy did they pick an amazing wedding venue!

Westwood Hall Wedding in Weatherford Texas

This trip to Texas marks my 2nd time to photograph a wedding for the Dunlap family. Last year I had the honor of photographing Michael and McKenzie’s Bass Hall wedding. The Dunlaps are the kindest and most caring people you will ever meet. My wife and I have known the family for…let’s just say a long time. Being asked to come back and photograph Shelby’s wedding was such a treat. She and Angel picked the perfect venue for their special day, Westwood Hall at The Springs Event Venue. Gorgeous scenery surrounding a rustic banquet hall that provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.

Upon arriving everyone was in full swing finishing up the wedding decorations. Everything from table centerpieces to a homemade popcorn stand was being put in its place. I had my work cut out for me photographing details alone. Gorgeous flower arrangements were everywhere thanks to the creative talent of From A to Z Designs. Angelica’s use of color is on another level.

After wrapping up the detail photos it was time for those finishing shots of our bride getting a helping hand from her mother and sisters with the dress. Those last few button ups with mom are priceless moments. Shelby was in her dress and ready for her shoes, I mean cowboy boots. This is Texas and boots are standard wear. No questions asked. 🙂 With boots on it was time for the first look with her dad. These moments always hit me hard as I think about my own daughter and myself being in that spot. I’m not crying, you’re crying. 🙂

Next up was the ceremony. Everyone was smiling as our groom lead the way in escorting his mother. Our bridal party followed up with Shelby walking down the aisle with her dad. A sweet ceremony that shared a few laughs, tears and joy. Angel and Shelby kissed to seal the deal and earned the right to mark “married filing jointly” on this year’s taxes.

Their reception filled the night with toasts, tacos and dancing. A mix of country, Mexican, pop music from DJ Ruben kept everyone moving on the dance floor. When the night came to a close, our couple walked out to a bubbly send off. They made their “escape” in Shelby’s grandfather’s 65 Mustang convertible. Talk about an exit! I’d like to finish with a heartfelt thanx to Shelby and Angel for allowing me capture their special day. The team behind Pretty Little Planners did an outstanding job of keeping the day on the track for this Westwood Hall wedding. Those gals are awesome!

Below are a few of my favorite images from the day, enjoy!

No wedding happens without an amazing team working hard behind the scenes. These top notch talented people all helped to make Angel and Shelby’s wedding day a success. A special thanx to my 2nd photographer Matt Beutel, who caught an early morning flight the day of the wedding to help me out.
