Phoenix Wedding | Ivan and Karen at the Phoenix Art Museum
I’ve been waiting for this Phoenix wedding for quite some time. I knew Karen and Ivan would have a magical day for their wedding and they didn’t disappoint.
Phoenix Wedding at the Art Museum
When I first met this lawyer / engineer duo I knew I had to shoot their wedding. Seeing how they complement each other was something I wanted to capture for them on their wedding day. Actually it started with their engagement session at the Boulders Resort. Their enthusiasm during that shoot confirmed everything I thought about how awesome their wedding would be.
Their day started at the Westin in downtown Phoenix. The bride and groom were surrounded by some of their closest friends and family as they prepared for their big day. While Ivan and his groomsmen were GQ’ing out by a Porsche, Karen was rocking her dress from Brides by Demetrios. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress.
Our next stop was the Phoenix Art Museum where Karen and Ivan would have their first look. Before I go further I want to say what an amazing job Andrea Leslie did as the wedding planner for Karen and Ivan. Every detail was covered and the wedding went off without a hitch. One of the most emotional first looks I’ve ever seen was Karen’s father when he got to see Karen in her wedding dress. It was all I could do from tearing up as emotion overcame him seeing his little girl in her wedding dress. Getting moments like that is why I love to shoot weddings. Ivan was next and he had nothing but a smile on his face as he saw his stunning bride in her dress for the first time.
We packed up and headed for St. Francis Xavier for this Phoenix wedding. St. Francis is a beautiful Catholic church that served as an amazing venue for their ceremony. Vows were exchanged as friends and family witnessed the beginning of their new life together. As they exited the church they were greeted by a mariachi band to kick off the reception!
It was back to the Phoenix Art Museum for the reception fun. The museum is such a unique place to shoot at with all the art and sculptures. Of course not all of it is available but enough to make a truly unique experience. Karen and Ivan roared into the reception with their grand entrance and didn’t look back. The night was filled with visiting friends and family and of course dancing the night away. It was such an honor to spend the day with these two and I wish them nothing but the best!
