Daniel and Elisa rocking it out during their comic book engagment

What do you say when your client says they want a comic book engagement session? You say yes!

Comic Book Engagement with Daniel and Elisa

When Daniel and Elisa mentioned they wanted to do their engagement session at a comic book store I was stoked! Growing up in rural Illinois one of my past times was collecting comics. My neighborhood buddies and I would make monthly trips to the local drug store to buy the newest issues of Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, The Avengers, Dare Devil, well you get the idea.

Once our date was set I starting counting down the days. With Daniel and Elisa being comic fans I knew this was going to be a fun shoot. When the day came I headed out early to scout the store and be ready for when Daniel and Elisa arrived. A call from Daniel let me know that Eliza was having some car trouble and they would be a little late. No problem! Bonus time for me to spend with the comics. It also gave me a chance to get to know Mike the owner of True Believer Comics. Great guy and if you are into comic books hit him up!

Once Daniel and Elisa arrived we got to shooting. We moved around the store and set up some shots with some of the comic book store “props”. I have to say this was one of the funnest shoots I’ve done to date. A little trip back in time to re-visit my childhood while hanging out with a great couple made this an awesome day.

We complemented this session with a follow up shoot at the Scottsdale Civic Center. This gave Daniel and Elisa a chance to add a little more formal look to their engagement photos. Can’t wait for their wedding!
