And Then There Was Lightning

Today’s post is to spur on our forecast for the weekend. The weather man is calling for storms today and tomorrow here in Phoenix. So to encourage that activity I thought I would post a lightning strike from July.
This was taken from Fountain Hills which is to the northeast of Phoenix. The town sits higher in elevation and provides a good vantage point when the conditions are right. On this particular night the lightning was going crazy right up until I made it to this spot. After I got out and set up there was a huge lull in the action. I was about to give up when this strike popped. I wound up with a handful of others but this one was the best of the bunch.
Until next time…

Now that is one impressive lightning strike Chris, I really like the wide angle, looks great!
I hope this brings on some good storm for all you storm chasers! Like how the bolt progressively gets larger as it nears the ground.
Wow. nice!
You guys get the best lightning out there Chris. Well captured.
