Desert Botanical Garden Portraits Deseree and TJ

I had a blast shooting Deseree and TJ’s portraits at the Desert Botanical Gardens. These guys showed up and we hit the ground running. 

Deseree and TJ were the winners of a photo contest I held on my Facebook fan page earlier this summer. They hustled and got the most votes to win a free photo session with me. We kicked around a few ideas for locations and eventually settled upon the beautiful Desert Botanical Gardens.

I was super excited to shoot there as it was a first for me. Having visited several times in the past (the Chihuly exhibit was amazing) but had never shot a photo session at the Gardens. I was sooo looking forward to it.

Since it was a new place I got there a bit early to scout out a few starting places and to see how the light was going to be. For on-location shoots natural light is everything. Satisfied with my initial selections I made my way back to the entrance to greet Deseree and TJ. They showed up with huge smiles and were ready to rock it!

Once we got started we didn’t stop until the sun went down. These guys were great to work as they had complementary personalities. They were able to play off of each other throughout the entire shoot. Freaking awesome!
