Today’s image was taken back this past summer while on our way to Durango CO. As we were making our way through the northeastern part of AZ we came upon these crazy cloud formations.
I pulled over on the side of the highway hoping for a storm to break out. Of course being on vacation and having a destination to get to doesn’t afford you a lot of time to “wait it out”. After about 10 minutes of no storm activity and antsy family, I was forced to settle with crazy clouds.
Perhaps I should of named this one Frustration.
Until next time…

Mammatus! Nice!
I like the clouds here. They look like some of those shots you see underwater with a wave rolling by. I wonder if angels are surfing up above?
The cloud formations are unbelievable. Wonderful composition.
Awesome image Chris!
Sweet shot man! Really like the contrast between the clouds and the foreground. Looks really cool.
Who needs a storm, that sky is enough of a subject. Well done.
An awesome sky perfectly balanced by the wide open plain below. Nice capture.
Cool shot. Those are called mammatus clouds, and you google the reason why they’re called that.
Awesome capture Chris!
Great decision to ‘go big’ with the sky. I love it!
