One of the things I love about backyard weddings is the intimacy. Allie and Ryan’s wedding was perfect in every way.
I first met Allie and Ryan on January 1st of this year at a local Starbucks. Meeting with a young couple on New Year’s Day to discuss their wedding tells you right away how serious they are about choosing their photographer. 🙂 I have to admit I was surprised they were willing to meet the next day after New Year’s Eve. These guys are hardcore.
You don’t have to spend very long with Allie and Ryan to see how easy going and laid back these two are. They were made for each other. Shortly into our meeting I knew I wanted to be apart of their special day. We discussed their backyard wedding and the style of photography they were after. Fortunately for me I fit their needs.
When spring came we headed out and shot their engagement session at Papago Park. We climbed all over the buttes at Papago snapping one photo after another. They were such troopers for hiking all over the place.
Their wedding was held at Ryan’s parents house. The backyard stretched endlessly to make for a perfect ceremony location. Complementing that huge yard was an amazing view of the White Tank Mountains for a perfect mountain backdrop. Allie looked amazing in her 2nd wedding dress (she actually had 2 different dresses). What a beautiful bride! As the ceremony progressed there were a few tears shared by everyone. I warned Ryan ahead of time that most grooms get a little teary eyed so don’t be surprised when it happens. I think it still caught him off guard. The day carried onto the evening with a first dance and cake cutting. Their DJ got the party going onto the dance floor as friends and family celebrated into the night.
I would like to close with a big “thank you” to Allie and Ryan for allowing me to photograph their memories. These two are amazing and I wish them the best!
Nice job Chris!
