Derrick and April had an amazing day with their Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak wedding. They celebrated their love with friends and families to make for a very memorable wedding.
Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Wedding with Derrick and April
Derrick and April started their journey towards being a married couple at St. Mary’s Basilica Catholic church. Their traditional Catholic ceremony was highlighted by the beautiful church of St. Mary’s. I’m always amazed by the beauty and detail work that resides in Catholic churches.
After exchanging their vows we grabbed some photos of the family and of the happy couple before heading out to the reception. April looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. Later she would change into a traditional Philippine wedding attire which was amazing. A dress made from pineapple leaf fibers is something you don’t see at very many weddings. I love it when my couples are able to incorporate their culture into their ceremonies. Not only does it make it unique but it makes the wedding theirs.
The reception was held at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. With our amazing fall Arizona weather the outdoor reception was picture perfect. Derrick and April were able to mingle with their guests and catch up with family and friends. As the night played on DJ Justin from SKM Entertainment kept things moving with an energetic pace. Guests and our happy couple danced the night away with a solid playlist of music.
Halfway through the evening Derrick and April changed into their traditional Philippine wedding attire. Such a beautiful and unique attire I’ve never seen before. I always count myself fortunate with photographing weddings and getting to experiencing new cultures and traditions.
Shortly after their wedding I received a very nice “thank you” card from Derrick and April. My heart always jumps for joy when my clients take time out of their lives to send something so personal. I wish them the best of luck on their new life together.
