Sunrise in Joshua Tree
Today we go back to Joshua Tree National Park for a little sunrise.
Earlier this year I joined a few photog buddies for a weekend camping trip to Joshua Tree Park. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the park but I was excited to get to meet a few of the guys for the first time.
The park turned out to be great with its barren wasteland look coupled with the Joshua Trees. Our only complaint that night was the overnight temperature. I say this because even the Canuck said it was cold. When that happens you know you are in trouble.
Since most of us didn’t sleep well that night getting up at sunrise was easy enough. At the break of dawn we all spread out like a special forces group planning an attack. Armed with cameras and tripods we combed the area setting up for the sunrise. I can still remember the numbness in my hands.
Good times!

This seems like so long ago! What a fun trip. Nice sunrise and an epic sunset that day!
Yes it does seem long ago.
That was this year?? Seriously seems like forever ago. Great frame, dude.
Thanx Heath. Hope all is well up north.
Gorgeous image Chris, I love it.
That was worth the early start. The contrails add a lot of interest to the sky.
Well worth the restless night Chris. Great composition especially with the placement of the sunburst.
Gorgeous image! Love that sunburst, my friend!
Spectacular image Chris.
Great shot, Chris. Man, this is so cool. Killer sunburst peeking over the hill. 😉
When you get results like this shot, it’s worth the early morning rise. Good shot, Chris!
A beautiful desert shot!
