San Diego Skyline
You can’t beat a San Diego skyline. This past weekend we spent a few days in one of my favorite cities, can you guess which city that is?
The San Diego Skyline Shines
As summer break begins to wind down my wife and I decided to take our kids on a last minute vacation to San Diego. Since it’s only a short 6 hour drive from Phoenix we tend to visit often. During the summers you will see many Arizona license plates as everyone is looking to escape the heat. We are no exception.
One of things we love about San Diego is the amazing weather. On most days you can count on temperatures being no higher than 75 degrees near the coast. Summer perfection! It allows you to get out and do just about anything you want without worry. From beach time to enjoying the food at Seaport Village the weather is always perfect for what ever you have planned for the day.
I generally try to sneak away one night each time we visit and capture a San Diego skyline shot when possible. The first two nights we were there did not lend themselves for a decent shot. Cloud cover was very thick and pretty bland looking. I was little concerned during the trip that I might not get a shot at all with all the cloud cover that seem to be hanging around at night. On our last night I decided to make the trip over to Coronado Island and try my luck. Worst case is I would enjoy a summer night staring at the city with a nice ocean breeze to keep me company. Over the course of about an hour I finally ended up with the above image. The clouds were moving some but not enough to break apart to make it more interesting. I settled in on the image above and processed it for a cold blue steel look to add a little drama to the San Diego skyline. It turned out pretty sweet in my humble opinion. 🙂 This is one I plan to print big on metal and have hanging in our living room. If you would like a copy you can find it in my online gallery for purchase.
Until next time…
