Storm Horizon

A storm cell drops rain over Phoenix Arizona.

A fun weather shot for today.  Last weekend we had a nice weather system roll through the state of Arizona.

This was a blessing for us as it has been a few months since we have seen the wet stuff.  Parts of the high country received over 50″ of snow, so this system had some kick to it.  In between the March Madness games I ventured out to see if I could grab a few shots of the gorgeous clouds that had made their way into the valley of the sun.

As I got out on highway 60 I noticed the cell you see above.  Given its size I knew I would have to go south a good ways to “fit” it all in.  I normally don’t do panos, but to grab this storm in all its glory I was forced to shoot 3 brackets.  As  you can see that is one massive storm cell.  Mother Nature can put on a show when she chooses.

Have a great weekend everyone!  I will be watching my KS Jayhawks take on NC State for a chance to advance to the “elite 8” of the NCAA tourney.

Until next time…

  1. Now that is an impressive pano! You’re right, Ma Nature sure knows how to put on a show when she wants to. It is a good thing you were there to capture it for her 😉
