Serenity on the Salton Sea

Sunset on the Salton Sea

Today we go back to the Salton Sea.  This image was taken back in January while on a two day camping trip to the Joshua Tree National park area.

Our final day had us combing the shores of Bombay Beach shooting everything from encrusted piers to stunning sunsets.  As I had mentioned in an earlier post this is definitely a place to visit if you are ever in the Palm Springs area.  The combination of dilapidated buildings, salt, and dead fish are just too good to miss.

My photograph above was a 90 second exposure using a 10 stop filter.   I love the contrast of the old posts sticking out of the silky smooth water.  It seems to add just enough disturbance to a peaceful scene.

Until next time…
