Happy Friday everyone. It’s been a few days since I have posted anything. I blame Vegas for that. 🙂 Last weekend I attended WPPI (watch for a post on Monday) which has thrown my schedule off this week.
But enough of that and on to today’s image. This is my darling wife who so graciously posed for me at 10pm a few weeks back. I had just received a new 60″ Wescott umbrella and was itching to try it out. A little begging from me resulted in a portrait shoot. Photographers have the best wives!!
So far I have been pleased with my newest addition to the lighting arsenal. For $40 this has made for a nice light modifier. This particular model is the convertible one which can be used as a shoot through (my favorite) or as reflector.
Until next time…
Camera: Canon 40D with a Canon 50mm
Lighting: Alien Bee 800, 60″ umbrella
Processing: Lightroom 3, CS5
That is awfully kind of your wife. I hope you paid her with a fine meal and a clean house 😉 I may need to come down there and take some lighting classes from you.
I’m too good to her already. 🙂 I believe she did get a night out for her sacrifice. Although she probably would of preferred a clean house instead.
Lovely portrait, Chris. So nice of your wife (and mine as well) to put up with we photogs. 🙂
Nice skin smoothing! The gaps between the teeth are a bit light, but I wouldn’t go back and fix it since it’s not very noticeable and everything else looks amazing.
Nice portrait man. How you like those Alien Bees?
Love the ABs. Great bang for the buck.
Nice portrait and pose. My wife is a bit fed up of me requesting her services as a model for all my new gear!
Beautiful portrait Chris and very nice of your wife to pose for you. I hope you brought her a nice present back from Vegas 🙂
Very nice portrait Chris. Looks like the small investment paid off dividends.
Stunning! and the image is pretty good too! 😛 I’m actually looking for a good camera to use for travelling soon. The canon 40D seems a good bet!
Great shot, my friend! It’s much easier to do this sort of work when you have a beautiful model at your disposal! 🙂
