Family Photos at Roosevelt Row
Family photos at Roosevelt Row is always a fun time. Walking back alleys painted with graffiti offers something out of the ordinary for those looking for something a little different.
Family Photos at Roosevelt Row with the Boerner Family
I met up with the Boerners for their family photos at Roosevelt Row early so we could get a head start to beat the crowds. Being a part of the Phoenix Arts District, Roosevelt Row is an extremely popular location for family photos. The graffiti changes every few months so you never have the same look for very long. I was even surprised how much had changed since I was there earlier shooting an engagement session on Roosevelt Row.
We started out with an abandoned house in the area, that has been totally painted in graffiti. The front porch area and steps make for great areas to pose families or individuals. Kevin, Janelle, Andrew and Page were ready to rock and roll with this colorful area. We snapped a few pics of the whole family, some individuals of the kids, and Kevin and Janelle. Luck was on our side as no one else was around waiting for us to leave. This gave us ample opportunity to get several different looks of the family.
Content with the house we made our way over to one of my favorite alleys. It’s like walking a gauntlet of graffiti painted walls. There is always some interesting elements along the way to add some flair. So much color! We shot so many looks going down the alley. Wall shots, standing in the middle of the alley shots, we got everything. These guys loved every minute of it. Definitely not your typical “family at the park” shots, which is great. We wrapped up with a few shots with some hay bales that had been left out from a previous event in the arts district.
Below you will find a few favorites of mine from their session. Enjoy!
