Today we have a nice little view of one of our favorite camping spots, Woods Canyon Lake. This little gem is about 90 minutes away from the summer heat of Phoenix.
The summer months in Phoenix are brutal (I know who would of thought) as temps hit 110+ and stay there days on end. However a short drive will put you up on the Mogollon Rim near Payson. This area reaches an altitude over 5000 feet and becomes our Antarctic oasis. Okay it’s not really that cold but you get the idea. Elevation is everything.
With summer fast approaching our family is already looking forward to another great season of camping. You can bet we will be returning to Woods Canyon for a little “R and R”.
Until next time…

Looks inviting. I’d love to have a place like that to escape the summer heat and humidity.
Man, I would so love some S’mores with this view. You totally have me stoked to go camping this summer. Maybe I need to go before June! Pretty shot man.
I really like the composition, Chris. Beauty and balance! I’m not much of a camper but still can appreciate the beauty of nature. (on day trips from the hotel). 🙂
Nice composition, and the reflection in the water is really nice. That rock looks like a great spot for fishing.
Gorgeous scene Chris! Love that hint of orange in the clouds.
Clever composition, Chris! I love the way the rock, the clouds and their reflection all point into the center of the image to provide lead-ins from three of the four corners.
Lovely work, Chris.
Great image Chris…Love the view! Looks like a great place to do some photography!
Beautiful color an deflection Chris
Simply amazing sir!
Beautiful warm light and a great POV for this with a strong but not dominant foreground.
What a magical scene this is Chris! Wonderful work. That sky and the reflections are beautiful without being to overdone or fake looking, just perfect. Nice work.
Gorgeous. Makes me glad that I don’t have to drive very far now to get to the trees and water. 🙂
