Dark Skies

Short post today as I have a huge to-do list. Earlier this week we had a nice round of storms hit Phoenix. I was motivated to get out and chase as we are nearing the end of our monsoon season. Before long we will be staring at cloudless blue skies for awhile.
This image was taken just outside of Chandler Arizona. The view is to the south with the San Tan Mountains off in the lower left. This spot would of made for a nice time lapse had I not been in such a hurry to shoot lightning. Oh well I guess you can’t have everything. 🙂
I processed this with Nik Software’s Silver Efex Pro. I’m really started to enjoy that program and encourage you to give it a shot.
Until next time…
Camera: Canon 40D with a Canon 50mm

Love this Chris.
Really cool moody shot man. I like this.
Love just how dramatic this shot feels. The little patch of brightness on the right adds a nice touch of calm before the storm feeling. Good stuff today!
Wow Chris, love the drama here! What incredible scene man, you’ve captured it beautifully!
Yummy…love me some dark, grainy, bubbling skies.
Talk about ominous. Well seen and captured Chris.
Wow, Chris, wow. LOVE the beams of light coming down in the distance there, this really adds a huge punch of drama!
Love the contrast! Great shot!
Love the darkness to this shot! I heart Silver Efex Pro 2!
I’ve only scratched the surface with it and I love it.
Wonderful shot Chris, great processing!
