Venue at the Grove Wedding | Kylie & Todd
One of my favorites, a Venue at the Grove wedding with Kylie and Todd. A perfect spring day in Arizona set the stage for a flawless wedding.
Venue at the Grove Wedding Filled With Love and Laughter
I first met Kylie at of all places, physical therapy. Yep, you never know where you will find a future client. I was in PT to rehab my knee when I met Kylie. Over the course of a few sessions we got on the topic of weddings and photography. Kylie mentioned she was engaged and asked if I would photograph her wedding. Of course I said yes as Kylie represented everything I considered as a perfect bride.
Upon arriving at the venue, my second photographer and I scouted the area. Wedding details were being set out by the staff as Matt and I walked the grounds. We found the area for the couple’s “first touch” and a place to stage the dress. Kylie arrived soon after with her girls and the prep photos began. One of the first items I like to get done is the wedding dress. Matt and I got it hung and I was taken back by the color. A very unique combination of white with champagne. An absolutely stunning dress that Kylie would rock! Finishing up the dress in time before Todd arrived I returned to the bride’s room. From there it was bridal details (earrings, garter, veil, bouquet). Kylie and her bridesmaids continued getting ready as I snapped some candids. Matt was busy getting Todd and the fellas squared away.
One of the traditions I just love to see couples do is exchange gifts with a letter to each. To me the gifts are certainly sentimental, but the highlight is the reading of the letter. Most of the time there a few tears shed along with a few laughs. Such a wonderful way to prepare for the ceremony. The ring bearers were the couriers for the gifts and they did a fantastic job.
Kylie and Todd decided on doing a “first touch” instead of a first look. This is always fun as the couple doesn’t see each other but touch hands and share their moment. The conversation always ends in laughter as the couple retreats and prepares for the ceremony.
The ceremony had perfect weather as Kylie made her way down the aisle with her father. Kylie looked stunning in her Maggie Sottero dress and her amazing bouquet by Wild Child Floral. She and Todd stood before family and friends to exchange their vows. During the ceremony they did a “common ground” pouring. Each had soil from their home town that they poured into a jar that would symbolize their new beginning. A different spin on the “sand pouring” you commonly see. Love it when clients make their wedding their own. The kiss was shared as tears flowed.
Kylie and Todd made a grand entrance for their first dance. They wowed the crowd with some serious moves. Night came with toasts to congratulate the new couple. The DJ had the party going with track after track keeping everyone on their feet. I want to thank Kylie and Todd for allowing me to be their photographer. These guys are awesome and it was an absolute blast spending the day with them.
