Charissa and Garrett | Church Wedding

Charissa and Garrett are one of the newest newly weds in the state of Arizona. I had the pleasure of photographing their church wedding a few weeks back.
Intimate Church Wedding in Mesa AZ
It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was meeting these two lovebirds at a Starbucks discussing their upcoming wedding. We talked about the details of the wedding and also where they wanted to go for their engagement session. That was a journey that put us on top of Aztec Mountain.
Their wedding was an intimate setting in their local church. The pews were filled with family and friends there to see these two tie the knot. From the beginning Charissa had the biggest smile on her face that never left as the day unfolded. It’s one of the reasons I love photographing weddings is the sheer joy of the day.
The ceremony was filled with emotion as both Charissa and Garrett took turns reading their personal vows. They finished up with a pouring of sand into a single jar signaling the start of their one life together. I love seeing different takes on traditions like a unity candle. Things are always evolving and changing.
Once those rings were in place it was off to downtown Gilbert Arizona to enjoy the reception. Joe’s BBQ is a local establishment with amazing food and a nice little outdoor venue to host a reception. Guests were welcomed with a grand buffet perfect for a gorgeous afternoon. The best man and maid of honor gave their speeches recounting stories that brought laughs from everyone. After the dinner the couple made their way over for the cake cutting. Garret even had his Oregon Ducks cake. Talk about a hard core fan living in Sun Devil country. 🙂
Cake was served and our newly weds spent some time talking with their guests. I think its great when their is time in the wedding day for the couple to mingle with their friends and family. It adds to the memories of the day. As the day wrapped up with a bouquet garter toss we had just enough time for a few more portraits.
What a wonderful church wedding Charissa and Garrett had for their special day. I would like to thank them both again for allowing me to be a part of their wedding.
