Cracked

It’s been awhile since I posted a lightning strike so I figured it’s time.  We had some thunderstorms roll through on Tuesday night which proved to be a pretty good light show.

I got out late chasing the storms and quickly learned they were fast moving.  After about 30 minutes of chasing I gave up the ghost and headed for home.  This image was caught last month during one of the most powerful storms we have had all summer.  The AZ crew was out for several hours that night.  I’m pretty sure each of us caught over 100 strikes.  Crazy good night.

When I first saw this image on the computer the first thing that came to mind was a cracked windshield (something we have quite often here from the rocks on the highway).  Here’s to hoping to one more storm system before winter.

Until next time…

  1. Very cool image Chris. I see the cracked windshield. The thing that jumps out at me is that it looks like the lightning is powering the lights in the city.
