Curve Ahead

This shot is one of those accidental ones that falls in your lap every once in awhile. I was headed back from an afternoon outing with only the thought of getting home on my mind. Of course when we have clouds here you are always on guard for photo ops as the clouds are few and far between. As I rounded a corner this image was right in front of me. I debated whether to keep on going or pull over and grab some brackets. The photog side generally wins over the lazy side. Brackets for all!
One of the things I love about this shot is the winding road and not knowing where it leads. As I was processing the brackets it made me stop and think how metaphoric this image is to real life. The path before us is certainly never straight. Sometimes the things most near us aren’t quite clear (hence the use of Focal Point for the foreground). And finally who knows what will happen around the next bend. Life is full of surprises. Sometimes you just have to pull over to see them.
Until next time…
Love how the road disappears into the light. Really digging this shot!
Great composition Chris!
Oh man, I love this shot Chris, this would look great hanging up! Looks like a painting!!!
Great colors, the transition from sky blue to the dark green is fantastic.
Really like this shot, Chris. Love the perspective and the colors are just so vibrant! Well done!
What a freaking epic sky!
I have to say this is one of the best road hots I have seen in a while.
great shot Chris, and well said!
Love the composition on this Chris and the colors are great!
Certainly glad that you did pull over to grab those brackets! The clouds against that iridescent blue sky are stunning. Love not knowing what’s ahead, but it’s nice to have that little swatch of light as you ’round the bend!
Picturesque shot Chris. Love that curvy road. Great light as well.
Really like the light and shadow on the mountain in the background, and LOVE the clouds! Great shot!
Best part of a road trip is when you have plenty of time to pull off for those “in between” shots. Great job with this one!
