Engagement Portraits Ryan and Allie

Holy cow did I have a blast shooting Ryan and Allie’s engagement portraits. These two were so laid back and were ready to try anything I threw at them.
I first met Ryan and Allie on New Year’s day at a local coffee shop to discuss their wedding. I knew within the first few minutes of meeting them I wanted to shoot their wedding. As you can see they are both incredibly photogenic but what really shines are their personalities. They come on a little quiet at first but that doesn’t last long. Their wedding is going to be a party!
With a few email exchanges we decided on shooting at Papago Park for their engagement portraits. I’ve never shot there but always had it on my list. I was thrilled when they picked it. Papago has a nice little variety of areas to shoot, from wide open desert to small buttes.
It was a little warm on the day we started shooting but I noticed we had clouds hanging around. Sunset photos would be happening later that evening. Ryan and Allie were troopers as we made our way through the park. I would say things like “how about crouching down next to that bush” and off they would go. Their wedding will not come soon enough. We continued on snapping pictures as we made our way up one of the buttes before the sun began to set. As the sun went down it was time to bust out a flash and finish off the day with a gorgeous Arizona sunset.
In case I haven’t mentioned it, I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in November. Below are a few of my favorites from their engagement portraits. Feel free to leave a comment!
Great shots Chris! You can truly see this couples personality in their photos. Personally, I’ve always been a bigger fan of the engagement photos then the wedding photos.
Probably because the couple looks more relaxed 🙂
Bryan, these two were so much fun together. Their personalities did shine through.
Nicely done my friend.
