Wow, it’s not everyday I shoot a Scottsdale Airpark engagement session. Of course with Jay being a pilot, how could they not have an airplane in their engagement photos.
Scottsdale Airpark Engagement with Jay & Marisa
When I first Jay and Marissa back last fall, I knew right away I wanted to shoot their wedding. Call it a gut reaction or just the ease they put you at when you meet them I knew I had to get their wedding. Fortune smiled on me and they booked me shortly after the initial meeting.
We started our day at the Fairmont Princess Hotel for some formal shots. This gorgeous hotel provided an amazing backdrop for Jay and Marissa. We made our way around the manicured grounds just soaking up the beauty of the hotel. One thing that struck me was the sheer size of the property. It seemed to go on forever.
As gorgeous as the Princess was, I was super stoked to get to the airport. Jay had secured a Cirrus SR20 for us to use for the session. How cool is that! Once we got going with the shoot I couldn’t help but geek out and ask all kinds of questions about the plane. One thing I learned was this is the only commercial plane that has its own parachute! Kill the engine, push the button and out pops a parachute to guide you safely to the ground. Awesome!
Jay and Marissa both crushed this entire shoot. They were so fun loving and laid back the whole time. I can’t wait for their fall wedding this year.
